For the past 11 years the Monroe Jaycees have been putting on the largest fireworks show in Northeast Louisiana every 4th of July. Three years ago we extended the event to include a day-long festival on the Ouachita River.

Booth space for craft and merchandise vendors will be $65 and food vendors $125, but we will give a $15 discount to any registration that is received before June 6th. Electricity and water will be available but may be limited and will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Each year our event enjoys the sponsorship of local radio and television stations to help promote the event. This type of promotion brings tens of thousands of people to enjoy our event. This year will be no different.

For the past forty years, a majority of the proceeds from our projects goes directly to putting smiles on the face of needy children in Ouachita Parish. Each year we take underprivileged children on a Wal-Mart shopping spree where they get to spend approximately $75 to buy toys for themselves and gifts for their family! Additionally each year we try to find families that have experienced a major tragedy, such as fire, and provide a complete Christmas, including a tree, presents, and food.

Over the past four years we have helped over 900 children and have raised over $75,000. But our projects would not have such great success without successful events.

Along with our community projects, the Monroe Jaycees also provides leadership development for our members and has been doing great things in our community, training some of our community’s greatest leaders. This could not be possible without your support.

More details coming soon.

Sincerely,

2009 Board Of Directors
